Home is a Foreign Place – Glenwood’s debut collection – is a response to the question, “where are you from?”
For those who carry more than one origin story, home becomes something you form rather than inherit. Living between cultures transcends direct translation—you are both here and there, this and that.
“My experience growing up as a foreigner in Japan is embodied in this collection. Japan will always be my home, and I will always be a guest there,” reflects Justin Barber, founder of Glenwood. "Anyone who has roots in multiple cultures will feel understood from the very first time they wear these pieces.”
The result, Glenwood’s Signature Crewneck, is a distillation of cultural complexity, identity, and origin. Made for the outsiders looking in and the insiders looking out.
For the Aliens and the Prophets.

Transitional by Design
The Signature Crewneck is the ideal second layer for seamless transitions. Informed by the microclimates of northern California, the crewneck is designed to be worn comfortably across temperatures, seasons, and contexts. Made as a staple, not a statement.
With an emphasis on clean lines and a structured silhouette, the design balances generous proportions through the arms and body with a subtle taper at the wrists and waist. The drop shoulder drapes effortlessly into gentle stacks of fabric supported by a fitted cuff.

Simple in Form
Cut from a Japanese fabric developed from recycled plastic bottles, the garment holds its shape without being stiff or heavy. This quality enables the collar to be slightly raised in a way that mirrors the voluminous feel created by the drop shoulder.
And, made from the corresponding rib texture, offers the lone moment of juxtaposition before resolving into the body in one continuous line.

Subtle in Spirit
The collection’s defining mark – a simplified, geometric emblem of a house inspired by Zarina – features prominently on the front of the garment as an oversized emboss.
Spanning over 12 inches in height, custom plates and heat settings were required to push through the fabric in a way that is nearly indiscernible from distance but obvious to the touch.

The lowercase “w” glyph, taken from Glenwood’s logo, is embroidered on the back of the garment just below the neck. The monogram is sewn with a matte, tonal thread.

Available for Preorder
You can preorder the Signature Crewneck starting in February 2026. Preorders will be grouped into production runs on a rolling basis. Thank you for your patience and support of a small business.
